As long as you have a valid library card, you can be put on a waiting list for most items that are checked out. You can do it yourself through the Library Catalog or ask a Librarian to reserve (hold) the item for you. When the item arrives at the Shelby Township Library you will be notified by email or by an automated phone message, email or text message. A few items, like new items owned by some other libraries, and items there is a charge to check out like feature-film DVDs may not be placed on hold.

If you are requesting an item that is currently on the Shelby Township Library’s shelves and you intend to pick it up shortly, call the Library at 586-739-7414 and we will hold it for you at the Check-Out desk.

The Library has a fax machine and domestic faxes are $1.00 per page to send or receive. We are unable to do international faxing. The Library fax machine has a “scan to pdf” feature for creating pdf files for attaching to emails.  The “scan to pdf” service is free and limited to 10 pages per day. All of the library computers print to a print release station located at the Adult Reference Desk.  Printed pages are $.10 per page for black and white, $.25 for color prints.
